Rashid Ali Panhwer is a mid-career journalist currently working with Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), the premier news agency of the country, as Reporter/Sub-Editor. He is In-charge of Video News Service of APP at its Karachi Bureau and also reports daily for its print news service. He is a postgraduate in Business Administration with practical experience in journalism. He started his career from regional newspapers and switched to national media in 2007. His reports are widely published in leading English, Urdu as well as regional language newspapers of the country. He has been reporting on routine events with special focus on climate change, security, peace and development.
He has extensively covered various environmental issues including floods in Sindh province since 2010, their causes and impacts on human life and relief efforts to mitigate sufferings of victims; water pollution; recent heat wave in Karachi and different tree plantation campaigns and impacts of sea water intrusion in coastal areas of Sindh. He is a member of Karachi Press Club.
He has recently joined National Council of Environmental Journalists (NCEJ) and attended classroom and field training in Thatta and reported stories on “impacts of climate change on communities”
